A Heartlift For Your Christmas
A Christmas Podcast with Mindy Caliguire, author of "Ignite Your Soul"
When we choose intention instead of striving, something new and different emerges, more sustaining than mere achievement, more life-giving than even terrific missional goals. Intention moves us away from a to-do list and into a way of life, immersing us deeper and deeper into the present reality of God, where we will find his energy, wisdom, power, and purposes.

One of My Greatest Christmas Gifts
As I sat around my Christmas Eve Dinner with friends, I noted that one of my greatest gifts, vocationally, is the remarkable conversations I get to have on the podcast.
Sharing these conversations with you makes it even more meaningful, as the Swedish proverb says, “Joy shared is joy doubled.”
One of my spiritual guides and “heroes” is a beautiful woman, Mindy Caliguire.
This week, Mindy continues our conversation from Part 1 in which we learn of “functional atheism.”
Until I read Mindy’s book, I’d never heard of functional atheism.
I wonder if you have.
Mindy sent me on a dig-deeper-hunt to learn more. Paul David Tripp’s article helped me discern if this was happening in my own spiritual life.
Read more here.
I concluded it is, but I’ll save my thoughts for a future podcast.
A Little Q&A
As the day unfolds, I pray your heart takes a moment or two to look around.
My pastor, Jim, always invited us to “feast on the faces” around your table, around the room, and around the journey of your day.
There will be moments, I’m sure, where a comment or a look or an absence causes a stirring in your soul.
When that happens, take a deep breath.
Center your heart.
And try to remember the reason for this day—the birth of Christ.
Put the intentionality that Mindy speaks of in practice and overwhelm the moment with thoughts of God’s goodness and mercy and peace.
A Christmas Day Eve Blessing
May the gracious peace of God’s deep love for you rest quietly in your heart.
